Compared to March 2015, 14% more tourist arrivals and 13% more overnight stays were registered in tourist accommodation in March 2016. More than a fifth of foreign overnight stays were generated by tourists from Italy. Compared to March 2015, the number of their overnight stays increased by 66%. more...

Successful tourist visits in Piran and Portorož
During the holidays between 27th April and 1st May the Slovenian coastline was visited by large numbers of foreign tourists, which generated 10% more overnight stays in hotels compared to the same period last year. In the first four months of 2016 the municipality of Piran recorded 245,400 overnight stays, which is 5% more than last year. Visit Piran and Portorož for their traditional events: the International Boat Show Internautica Marina Portorož, the Day of Oil and Chard in Padna, the Feast of the Artichoke in Strunjan, and the Day of Roses and Healthy Cuisine in Portorož. more...
Slovenian airports post record travellers
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport, Maribor Edvard Rusjan Airport and Portorož airport recorded a 10% increase in passengers in 2015. All together the airports generated 1.46 million passengers.
